Digital Data Has Met Its Match:
VideoFOCUS v2.0

This April, Salient Stills is set to release VideoFOCUS v2.0, significantly improving users' ability to capture and export digital video. It will incorporate a new set of capabilities and time-saving improvements, providing an improved workflow from DVR movie files to final image and to authored DVD files:

Digital Video Import

Problem: You wish to import a range of digital video recorder formats including .WMF and .ASF.

Solution: VideoFOCUS v2.0 will support a greater range of video file import types. If the file can be opened in QuickTime or Windows Media Player, it will open in VideoFOCUS v2.0. This will allow users to work with DVR video files including .WMF and .ASF.

Digital Video Screen Capture

Problem: Proprietary DVR files may play only on specific players, requiring users to find that particular player or a conversion tool.

Solution: VideoFOCUS v2.0 will be able to capture video data directly from a proprietary player as the movie plays.

Digital Video Export

Problem: The sharing of data conforming to different formats and compression types.

Solution: VideoFOCUS v2.0 will export digital movie files to a variety of file formats and compression types. For example, users will be able to create .MOV, .AVI and .WMF files with movie data stored in codec types Uncompressed, DV, MPG and WMV.

Camera Stabilisation

Problem: Shaky surveillance or in-car video.

Solution: VideoFOCUS v2.0 will provide a camera stabilisation algorithm to stabilise the movie for analysis and court presentation.

New video card support

VideoFOCUS v2.0 will support a wider range of Blackmagic video input cards. It will support SDI input, composite or component video, directly into the card without the need for any special converters.

Printing

Version 2.0 will allow you to print images directly from VideoFOCUS.

Upgrading to v2.0

VideoFOCUS v2.0 will be available to all customers on Salient Stills' upgrade programme.
