An 8-channel CEDAR for Windows System has been installed at CBC, Toronto

October 1997: A CEDAR for Windows system has been installed at CBC's Toronto Broadcast Centre for use by CBC Radio Archives and CBC Records. It is the largest CEDAR for Windows system yet supplied and incorporates four CEDAR ProDSP boards, offering up to eight channels of simultaneous real-time audio restoration, or up to four simultaneous stereo processes. CBC also took delivery of five CEDAR processes, including declick, decrackle, auto-dehiss, NR-3, and Phase Correction.
The CEDAR for Windows WIN5: Phase Correction module
The Phase Correction module (soon to be reviewed in Audio Media and Studio Sound magazines) is the first to be supplied to any customer, its only previous appearance being at Bill Lacey's "Digital Sound and Picture" company, which is CEDAR's beta-test site in New York.
CBC's purchase follows the restoration and recent release of Glenn Gould's Goldberg Variations. These were restored by Peter Cook at CBC Toronto and Gilles St. Laurent at the National Library of Canada using three CEDAR rackmount units: a DC-1 De-clicker, a CR-1 De-crackler, and a DH-2 De-hisser.
