CEDAR Launches Dehiss plug-in for Soundscape SSHRD1 and R.Ed

14 February 2000
CEDAR Audio and Soundscape Digital Technology announce another joint venture product for SSHDR-1 AND R.ED
Further to the release of Declick for Soundscape in June 1999, CEDAR Audio is now pleased to announce the launch of DeHiss for Soundscape.
Designed as a plug-in to run on SSHDR1 and R.Ed systems, DeHiss for Soundscape will be launched at the 108th AES Convention in Paris, and will be demonstrated to dealers and prospective end-users on the Soundscape stand.
DeHiss for Soundscape is based on CEDAR's "auto-dehiss" technology, and as such is a descendent of the award-winning DH-1, DH-2 and DHX rackmount dehissers. It has been designed to address a wide range of broadband noise problems, but remains incredibly simple and intuitive in use. And, as with all CEDAR processes, the algorithms in DeHiss for Soundscape differentiate between the noise and the genuine signal, allowing transparent restoration of damaged material.
Gordon Reid, CEDAR's Managing Director, says of the new process. "For many months the development of DeHiss for Soundscape has been one of the industry's worst-kept secrets, so I am delighted to be able to announce it officially. I'm also pleased to be able to confirm that it's a great product, with a slick user-interface that integrates seamlessly with Soundscape's workstations. And, of course, the audio results can be superb."
DeHiss for Soundscape is immediately available from Soundscape and its worldwide distributors. Furthermore, Soundscape Digital Technology will continue to appoint members of CEDAR's existing dealer network, inviting them to supply and support the product.
