CEDAR Audio wurde in die
Audio Technology Hall Of Fame aufgenommen
Am 4. Oktober 2008 im Moscone Centre in San Francisco wird das CEDAR System in die TECnology Hall Of Fame aufgenommen.
Ein Komitee aus über fünfzig anerkannten Audioexperten, Autoren, Trainern, Ingenieuren, Studiobetreibern und anderen Industrieprofis, wählte die Neuzugänge aus, zu denen in früheren Jahren Innovatoren wie Leon Termin, Rupert Neve und Bob Moog gehörten, mit bahnbrechenden Erfindungen wie dem Cylinder Phonograph, der Triode Vacuum Tube, dem Soundstream Digital Recorder, Fairlight CMI und MIDI.
Die Aufnahmezeremonie wird am Samstag, den 4. Oktober während der 125th Convention der Audio Engineering Society (AES) stattfinden und ist für alle Teilnehmer der AES Convention frei zugänglich.
CEDAR's Managing Director, Gordon Reid, der den Award in San Francisco in Empfang nehmen wird, sagt dazu: "When George Petersen, Director of the Hall Of Fame, called me to say that the CEDAR System was to be inducted, I was almost speechless. There is something very special about being recognised by one's peers and the industry as a whole, especially when one is unaware of being considered for the honour. I am very grateful to the people involved, whoever they are, and would like to thank them here as well as in San Francisco in October."
"I would also like to thank those engineers and visionaries who contributed to the existence and early development of the system - Dr Christopher Roads of the British Library National Sound Archive, Emeritus Professor Peter Rayner and Professor Simon Godsill of the Cambridge University Engineering Department, our own Dave Betts, and former employee Keith Miller, all of whom contributed greatly to what CEDAR was to become."
Die Hall Of Fame wurde 2004 von der Mix Foundation gegründet, um signifikante, dauerhafte Beiträge zum Weiterentwicklung der Audiotechnologie zu würdigen.
