ALL GOOD THINGS... 22 June 2000 All things must pass and, after six amazing years, CEDAR has been forced to discontinue its SERIES 2 range of audio restoration systems.
SERIES 2: 1994 - 2000
CEDAR Audio first developed its rackmount restoration processors in 1992, beginning with the DC-1 De-Clicker and the CR-1 De-Crackler. Two years later, the Company upgraded the power and performance of these to create SERIES 2... a better DC-1 and CR-1, plus the award-winning DH-1 De-Hisser and the AZ-1 Azimuth Corrector.
Since then, SERIES 2 has remained one of CEDAR's most popular ranges, and has established a client list that is as long as it is impressive:
Many CEDAR Award winners have used SERIES 2s to create their winning entries. For example, Jon Astley won a 1998 Award for his SERIES 2 restorations of 'The Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions'. Similarly, Ted Kendall won a 1999 Award following his restoration of the entire 'Goon Show' archive using a DC-1, a CR-1, and an AZ-1. In the film industry, Skywalker Sound won a CEDAR Award for their restoration of 'The Star Wars Trilogy', three films that won numerous other awards world-wide, and whose soundtracks were all restored using DH-1 De-Hissers.
Unfortunately, some of the hardware components in the SERIES 2s are now obsolete, and we have reached the point where it is no longer practical to build more systems. Instead, we will retain the remaining component stock to ensure that we can support and repair existing units for years to come.
